This tutorial contains the full list of URI commands to launch apps in Windows 10. You can use these commands to directly open modern apps of Windows 10. These apps are new to Windows 10, they receive updates from Microsoft Store, and replace classic apps like Calculator or Photo Viewer.
Windows 10 introduced a new way to open apps and settings. Modern software in Windows 10 includes some ms-settings commands which can be used to open any page. They are known as URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) which Windows 10 can recognize and use as unique addresses to find and open specific pages of Settings, specific Store apps, and more.
You can use such URI commands to open Windows 10 apps from the Run dialog box, Command Prompt. Also, you can desktop shortcuts with these commands. While Store apps have executable files like classic win32 applications, launching their *.exe files won’t work. You have to use the app URIs.
